Muine Bheag Community Centre Archive Project
Documenting the Social History of Muine Bheag
The Muine Bheag Community Centre Archive is a collaborative project developed by Muine Bheag Arts, led by artists Mark Buckeridge and Leah Corbett, in partnership with the Muine Bheag Community Centre Committee and local participants. The initiative focuses on collecting and preserving the history of the Muine Bheag Community Centre, a significant civic space that has served as a hub for meetings, dances, clubs, sports, and cultural events for many years.
The project aims to gather interviews, personal stories, photographs, and ephemera to create an archive that reflects the centre’s role in the town’s social history. By engaging with members of the community, it provides an opportunity to document and safeguard local knowledge for future generations.
The archive is open for donations and archival material related to the Muine Bheag Community Centre. If you have any memories, photographs, stories, documents or recordings from events held at the Community Centre, contact Muine Bheag Arts at muinebheagarts@gmail.com
